Webinar on Belgian Hydrogen Import Strategy and Hinterland Connectivity

 In December 2024 Hydrom and the Belgian Hydrogen Council signed a Memorandum of Understanding to advance cooperation in the development and deployment of green hydrogen projects. The partnership aims to foster the relation (collaboration) between Belgium and Oman, two nations at the forefront of the global hydrogen economy, by facilitating joint research, industrial partnerships, and the establishment of a robust regulatory framework to support hydrogen import and distribution.

 Under the umbrella of this agreement, the Belgian Hydrogen Council and Hydrom jointly organize a first webinar where the Port of Antwerp-Bruges will present its hydrogen import strategy and developments on the infrastructure side with a focus on import, tank storage and pipelines. Also, the results of the recent connectivity study will be presented, elaborating on the hinterland connection to Germany by barge and rail. (In addition, it will present interesting conclusion that came out a recent study that was done by Rebel consultancy on the interconnectivity to the German hinterland through rail and barge connections.)

 In the future, other online webinars and in person workshops will be organized to discuss developments in Oman, regulatory barriers and evolutions after the Clean Industrial Deal, certification, etç
