India is opportunely positioned to help meet Belgium’s and the EU’s rising green hydrogen demand, it’s actively designing the roadmap to do so. Through the National Green Hydrogen Mission launched in 2023 with nearly $2.3 Billion in initial funding, the country is gearing up to reach a production target of 5 million tonnes per year by 2030. Backed by the SIGHT programme and strong government support, the sector is poised to attract more than $ 100 Billion and scale local electrolyser manufacturing to at least 20 GW.

India’s green hydrogen costs are already competitive. Recent auctions have seen prices around ₹328 per kg (US$3.8), and projections show a possible fall to ₹260–310/kg (US$3–3.75) as incentives and economies of scale kick in. A similar trend is emerging in green ammonia, where two back-to-back auctions under the SIGHT scheme have discovered tariffs between ₹51.8 and ₹55.75 per kg (US$591–641/MT). These cost signals, backed by assured offtake and payment security, are boosting investor confidence and accelerating India’s path toward large-scale, export-ready production.

This webinar will focus specifically on two key themes relevant to Belgian stakeholders:

  1. Policy & Regulatory Landscape: Latest policy frameworks, incentives, trade positioning, and certification initiatives under India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission.

  2. Project Pipeline & Industry Developments: Updates on electrolyser manufacturing capacity, large scale hydrogen/ammonia projects, port readiness, and investment opportunities.

The session aims to provide a targeted update for Belgian industry to better engage with India’s evolving green hydrogen ecosystem.
